CRANBERRY SURPRISE PIE 
2 c. fresh cranberries
1 c. flour, sifted
1/2 c. nuts, chopped
1/2 c. butter, melted
2 eggs, well beaten
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening, melted

Grease well a 10 inch pie plate and spread the berries over the bottom. Sprinkle 1/2 cup of sugar and nuts over the berries. Beat the eggs, add remaining cup of sugar, gradually, beating until well mixed. Add the flour, butter and shortening, and beat well. Pour the batter over the berries. Bake 1 hour at 325 degrees or until the crust is golden brown. Serve warm or with whipped cream or ice cream
