COUNTRY STYLE POTATOES 
5 med. potatoes, peeled and shredded (aabout 6 cups)
1/4 c. water
1 1/2 c. whole milk
1 tsp. salt
1/4 c. chopped chives
1/4 c. butter
1/4 c. grated parmesan cheese
Paprika

Place potatoes in 2 quart microwave proof casserole with water. Cook, covered on High (max. power) for 10 to 12 minutes or until steaming hot. Drain. Add milk, salt, chives and butter. Stir carefully, then stir in parmesan cheese and sprinkle with paprika. Cook, uncovered on simmer for 8 to 9 minutes or until tender.

1 package (24 oz.) frozen shredded hash browns can be substituted for the potatoes. Heat in package on High for 10 to 12 minutes, turning once during cooking time. Empty potatoes into casserole and follow recipe.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
