BEEF MARSALA 
1 lb. top round beef, cut into cubes
4 tbsp. butter
1 sm. onion, chopped
1/2 lb. fresh mushrooms, halved if large
1 1/4 c. Marsala wine or red wine
1 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. thyme
1/4 tsp. tarragon
1/8 tsp. red pepper
1 green onion, chopped finely
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/4 tsp. liquid hot pepper
1 1/4 tbsp. four
1/2 lb. green beans, slightly steamed

In large iron skillet over medium high heat, brown beef in butter. Add onion and mushrooms; saute for a few minutes. Add 1 cup wine and seasonings. Place in 1 quart casserole. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Taste to see if more seasonings are needed. Blend flour with remaining 1/4 cup wine and stir into casserole. Gently mix in green beans. Good over steamed rice. Serves 4.

I searched many recipes to make this dish, as I had 3 small NY strips. I chose this because I had all of the ingredients on hand. It was super easy, and delicious. Followed the exact recipe for spices, used chianti wine and served over buttered, sesame seed noodles. Oh..didn't use the green beans.

I made this today, using venison instead of beef... I cut the venison into medallions, floured them, then browned them and followed the recipe... I served it over steamed rice and it was fabulous!!! Thanks!
