LILY'S CABBAGE SOUP | |
1 pkg. smoked Polish or Portuguese sausage, sliced green onions, chopped (or leeks) 8 to 12 cups water small grapefruit size turnip, peeled and diced 1 scant tbsp. beef bouillon to taste (I use the paste) 3 to 4 medium potatoes, peeled and diced 1 head of cabbage, sliced/chopped ground pepper and chopped parsley, to taste Brown sausage (add a bit of water if pan browns). Add chopped onion to cook a bit with the sausage. Add water, turnip, spices and bouillon. Boil about 20 to 30 minutes then add potatoes and cabbage. Boil until cabbage and potatoes are fully cooked.
