HEAVENLY OATMEAL CHOCOLATE CHIP
COOKIES
 
1 lb. (4 sticks) butter, softened
2 cups white sugar
2 cups brown sugar
4 eggs
2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. vanilla
4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 1/2 cups oatmeal (quick cooking oats)
1 (12 oz.) bag chocolate chips

Preheat oven to hot (400°F).

Cream together butter, sugars and eggs. Add vanilla.

In a separate bowl sift together flour, baking powder and baking soda. Add to liquid ingredients. Stir in oatmeal and chocolate chips. Drop onto greased cookie sheets.

Bake at 400°F for 7 to 9 minutes. Do not overbake!
