Fudgy Fudge Brownies

i haven't had any experience with making brownies from scratch - i've mainly baked cookies and cakes from scratch, and brownies from a box - but this recipe turned out hardly anything like brownies. it doesn't smell like fudge brownies, doesn't bake like fudge brownies, and sure doesn't taste like fudge brownies. they're ok as something else than brownies. this recipe turned out having more of a brown sugar taste, than fudge or chocolate. and had a crunchy crust, and near-syrupy center - it would have turned out a better pie crust or cookie bar base than brownies. or, i'm just completely spoiled on store box brownies, i guess.

I thought they were really good but I like them to be cooked a few minutes longer (about 5 mins) so the centre is a bit more done. I also added 1/2 cup of cocoa instead of 1/4 so it had a richer chocolate flavour.

I also added 1/2 cup cocoa and cooked for longer than the recipe stated. The end result was great. My husband said they were the best brownies I've ever made. Definitely a keeper.

I made these brownies this morning only with 1/3 cup of cocoa and added 1 cup of coconut flakes. They came out like Mounds only Brownies. I also chose a larger/shallower baking dish so they would cook more evenly. I had a feeling they'd be hard on the edges and undercooked in the center. It was a good idea and I'd recommend it.

Best damm brownie I have tasted in my 79 years, and I do a lot of cooking.

Very easy and tasty! If you want it more "box-like" I'd add more cocoa because these are more like milk choc brownies!

I really liked them. I like my brownies underdone so it worked out for me. I put a chocolate butter cream icing on top. Very yummy!

Add more Cocoa! The consistency is great, chewey, not cakey. But they're not very chocolately with only 1/4 cup cocoa powder. I also cooked a few minutes longer than stated in the recipe. That said, I think tinkering with the cocoa amount will result in this being my favorite brownie recipe so far!

I thought these were really awesome. I added a ton of cinnamon and some chili powder. They were delicious. Next time I make these however, I will double the coca powder the recipe calls for as the brownies as they are were described as "milk chocolate brownies"

Am i supposed to use regular sugar or powder sugar? Because the fine sugar make the brownies a bit crunchy. However, the brownies were AMAZING!!!

I'm 13, and I've always helped my older sister make stuff, so this recipe was the first time I baked anything myself from scratch, and they were awesome. Keep it up.

I made these brownies today, but after reading previous reviews I added 1/2 cup instead of 1/4 cup of cocoa and added some semi-sweet chocolate chips, baked 5 min longer my wife couldn't believe they were home made. The family loved them.

Made them with a little over a half up of extra dark Hershey's cocoa and doubled the vanilla. Also used 1/2 cup butter and 1/4 cup extra virgin dark and fruity olive oil, not for health but olive oil totally makes brownies better and you can't taste it at all. That's my secret ingredient! These were spectacular!

These were really good! Instead of only 1/4 cup of cocoa, I used 1/2 a cup. I skipped the icing all together and I broke a king size Hershey's bar and spread it evenly throughout the batter. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!
