SANDY'S BEST SOUTHERN SWEET ICED
TEA

Here is my never fail sweet tea... Everyone (even Yankees) loves it!

5 regular size or 3 family size tea bags (Luzianne brand is best for iced tea)
3 or 4 cups water
1 1/2 to 2 cups sugar
a pinch baking soda (about 1/8 tsp. or to taste)

Bring 3-4 cups of water to a boil. Add a pinch of baking soda to the water and add tea bags. Remove from heat and cover. Allow to sit for at least 10 to 15 minutes.

Pour into gallon pitcher and add sugar - mix well. Then fill with cold water. Refrigerate.

Note: The baking soda takes out the bitterness and darkens the tea.... this small amount doesn't change the taste.

Enjoy!!

I love this tea on a hot day I use it all the time and it's great with a slice of lemon, and some ice. I love that it's a simple recipe that requires very few ingredients. Definitely a keeper! I think the pinch ofbaking soda does add a nice flavor.
