Fantastic meat sauce for hot dog. Next time I make it I will definitely cut brown sugar in half. Much too sweet.

My aunt makes this recipe for every family cookout and for years now she has cut the sugar down to a 1/2 cup and it is perfect. Not too sweet but still plenty sweet!

 Shirley (New York) says:
I would have given this five stars but the 1 cup of brown sugar made this too, too sweet. I would start with 1/4 cup and add more if needed.

This was good and easy to make. I only used 1/4 cup brown sugar and added some hot sauce. Instead of ketchup I used tomato paste. I could still taste the manwich so next time I will replace that with tomato sauce.

Reduced sugar to half cup, reduced water to 1 cup, puréed half an onion. Perfection!

 Mike (Kentucky) says:
Great sauce but I left the brown sugar completely out on the second batch because the ketchup and manwich make it a little sweet anyway.

Made this chili last night. I cut the brown sugar to a third of a cup and it is excellent. Easy and fast so it was perfect for me

Great recipe :) I've made it several times but I always drain the beef.
