“BISQUICK SAUSAGE BALLS” IS IN:

BISQUICK SAUSAGE BALLS
1 lb. sausage (hot or mild)
1/4 cup water or chicken broth
1/4 tsp. ground sage or Bell's Seasoning (optional)
1 onion, finely minced
2 cloves garlic, pressed
1/2 to 1 tsp. salt & pepper
1/4 tsp. thyme
1/2 tsp. each onion and garlic powder
10 oz. cheddar cheese
3 cups Bisquick

In a skillet over low heat, break up sausage meat and simmer with 1/4 cup chicken broth, sage, 1 chopped onion and minced garlic until sausage is no longer pink, stirring often (about 15-20 minutes). Do not brown. Season to taste with salt, pepper, thyme, onion and garlic powder. Let cool for 10 minutes. Do not drain.

In a large bowl combine meat mixture with cheddar cheese and Bisquick. Roll into 1-inch balls.

Place on an ungreased, foil lined cookie sheet and bake at 375°F for 12 minutes, or until golden and cooked through.

This one is tasty. Just a minor comment that the cheese needs to be shredded before combining with the meat mixture.

I thought it goes w/o saying that the cheese needs to be shredded first -- lol

Thanks WynnM! Never would have thought of shredding it first! :-)

Made these for my family Thanksgiving morning --- they loved them! They were light and fluffy and very tasty. In the past the ones made with raw sausage were heavy and packy. This is our new family recipe!

I made this recipe with turkey sausage. I changed the chicken broth to 1/3 cup and sprayed the baking sheet with PAM. Great recipe!

Just made these for Christmas gathering. They are definitely an improvement on the original recipe. Fluffier and not greasy with very nice flavor. This will be my go to sausage ball recipe from now on.

Haven't tried it yet but my first thought when I read cheese was to buy shredded cheese. Glad to hear good reviews. I am going to try it in the morning for breakfast. Thank you.

Will be trying tomorrow. I'm excited about this and was thinking this would go great with a white gravy "dip".
