Cream shortening, sift sugar over ... This is my own personal recipe and I have found it enough to ice and decorate an average 1 mix size cake.

This icing may be used as regular cake icing and also for decorating.

Sift sugar and salt in bowl. Mix shortening in, then add rest of ingredients.

NOTE: 1 lb. confectioners sugar ... egg whites and Crisco. Add flour, salt, vanilla, and confectioners sugar. Yields frosting for 2 (9x13) cakes.



Mix well. Add: 3/4 c. water Beat well for about 10 minutes. Freezes well.

Mix all ingredients and beat at medium speed for 15 minutes.

Mix at medium speed 3 minutes and high speed 5 minutes.

Beat for 5 minutes. Will get light and fluffy.

Beat for 5 minutes. Store airtight in the refrigerator. Keeps for months. If you want chocolate (or brown) frosting, add cocoa to taste.
