GROUND BEEF-CABBAGE MARSALA | |
2 lb. ground beef 2 lb. finely chopped cabbage 1 c. chopped onions 1/2 tsp. cumin 1/2 tsp. fennel seed powder 1/2 tsp. ginger 1/2 tsp. garlic powder 1/2 tsp. cayenne 1/2 tsp. black pepper 2 tbsp. chopped cilantro 1/2 tsp. turmeric powder (optional) Salt to taste, approximately 1 to 1 1/2 tsp. 4 tbsp. oil Add oil to skillet over medium heat. Saute onions, cumin, fennel, ginger, garlic, black pepper, cayenne pepper and turmeric. Continue until onions turn glassy. Add meat and salt. Cook until meat is browned. Add cilantro and cabbage. Cover skillet and cook on medium-low heat for approximately 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve over rice. |
