“SAVORY BEANS” IS IN:
NEXT RECIPE:  SIMPLE POTATO PANCAKE

SAVORY BEANS 
1 pound dried beans
1 large onion, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
2 tablespoon oil
1/4 pound bacon, diced, then browned & drained
2 tsp. salt (or to taste)
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon mustard
1 (16 oz.) can diced tomatoes
1/2 tsp. pepper sauce (or to taste)
2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce

Place bean in large saucepan and cover with water. Bring to boil on high, then reduce heat and simmer about 1 hour - or until tender.

Sauté onion and green pepper in oil for 5 minutes, then add to beans. Add bacon, salt, brown sugar, mustard, tomatoes, pepper sauce and Worcestershire.

Simmer for one more hour, adding water during cooking if needed.
