LOW CALORIE DRESSING FOR SALADS 
3/4 c. olive oil, peanut or vegetable oil
1/4 c. red wine or cider vinegar (good quality - not store brand)
1/2 tsp. sea salt (or to taste)
1/2 tsp. sugar or honey
1/2 tsp. dry mustard
1/2 tsp. paprika
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1-3 cloves crushed garlic (optional)
pinch of hot pepper flakes (optional)

Combine all ingredients in jar and shake well. Add fresh herbs of your choice, if desired.

Yield: About 1 cup

Servings: 8

Nutrition (per serving): 190 calories, 20.5g total fat, 2.8g saturated fat, 2.1g polyunsaturated fat, 7.1mg potassium, 1.6g carbohydrates, less than 1g sugar, less than 1g fiber, less than 1g protein, Omg cholesterol, 86.5mg sodium, 1.2mg calcium, 69.6IU Vitamin A, less than 1mg Vitamin C, less than 1mg iron.

This recipe is mislabled, however it is tasty.
I used light olive oill, not the extra virgin green.

Oil is 100 calories per tablespoon. When one is using a healthy oil, as in olive or other non hydrogenated oil we are getting health benefits from the oil.
Wesson oil is hydrogenated and should not ever be ingested, if you care about the quality of your health.
Wesson oil is designed for shelf life not excellent health.

It's all about serving portions. I've modified the recipe to reflect more accurately the correct serving portions.

Keep in mind, also that much of the oil in a salad dressing is not actually consumed, but left behind on the dish and in the mixing container.
