GINGER COOKIES 
1 c. soft shortening
1 c. packed brown sugar
3/4 c. molasses
3/4 c. sour milk
4 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
2 eggs
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. ginger

Sift flour once - measure - add ginger - soda and salt - sift twice. Cream shortening and sugar - add molasses and eggs. Beat and add remaining ingredients - chill. Cut and bake at 375 degrees. Either sprinkle with sugar before baking or use a thin powdered sugar icing after baking.
