MOLASSES SUGAR COOKIES | |
3/4 c. shortening 1 c. sugar 1 egg 1/4 c. Brer Rabbit molasses (green label) 2 tsp. baking soda 2 c. all-purpose flour 1/2 tsp. cloves 1/2 tsp. ginger 1 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp. salt Melt shortening in a 3-quart saucepan over low heat. Remove from heat and let cool. Add sugar, molasses and egg and mix well. Sift together flour, soda, cloves, ginger and cinnamon and add to first mixture; mix well and chill. Form into 1-inch balls and roll in granulated sugar. Place on well-greased cookie sheet. Bake in 375°F oven 8 to 10 minutes. (Very good while they are warm.) |
