3/4 c. granulated sugar
3/4 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 pkg. chocolate chips
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. shortening
2 1/4 c. flour
1 c. chopped nuts

Mix shortening, sugar, and vanilla until light and fluffy. Add eggs and beat. Sift flour, soda, and salt; add to first mixture. Add nuts and chocolate bits. Place on greased cookie sheet. Bake 10 to 12 minutes at 375 degrees.
