APPLE CRISP PIE
1 10-inch deep unbaked pie shell
6 to 8 medium apples, peeled and sliced
1 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ginger

Place apple slices in unbaked pie shell. Mix dry ingredients together well and add to apples, making sure it goes down into apples.

Topping:

3/4 c. quick oats
1/3 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ginger
1 stick butter

Mix well and pour an even layer over top of entire pie. Slice butter into thin slices and put on top of pie, spacing and covering as much as possible.

Bake in preheated 375°F oven for 1/2 hour, then reduce heat to 300°F and continue to bake about 1 hour or more until crust and topping are golden brown.

For crisp, instead of a pie, just put in a casserole dish and bake.
