EGGS STRATA 
stale sliced bread
6 slices ham (can use bulk sausage, drain well)
1/2 lb. grated cheddar cheese
2 tsp. butter
6 eggs
3 c. milk
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper

In 9 x 13 baking dish, make a layer using half of the bread and then a layer using all of the meat. Sprinkle on half the cheese and add another bread layer. Sprinkle on the remaining cheese. Dot with butter.

In a bowl, combine milk, eggs, salt and pepper; mix well and pour over bread/meat layers. Refrigerate at least 4 hours, better overnight.

Bake at 350°F for 40 minutes. Remove from oven and let set 10 minutes before serving.

For variations, try using mushrooms, green peppers, onions, shredded hash browns, rolls or biscuits.
