EGG 'N CHEESE STRATA 
6 slices day old bread
3 tbsp. butter, softened
1 c. Cheddar cheese
6 eggs, slightly beaten
1 1/2 c. milk
1 tsp. dry mustard
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
Bacon bits (optional)

Butter bread, cut into small cubes. Alternate layers of bread cubes and cheese in 2 quart casserole. Blend together eggs, milk, seasonings, pour over bread. Top with bacon bits. Cover. Refrigerate several hours or overnight. Bake in preheated oven at 350 degrees for 70 minutes or until golden brown. Makes 4-6 servings.
