BANANA BREAD 
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. lard or shortening
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. flour
3 to 5 bananas, mashed (best with 5)
1/2 c. nuts

Cream sugar and shortening or lard. Add beaten eggs. Combine dry ingredients and mix in alternately with mashed bananas. Add nuts. Bake at 375 degrees, 55 to 60 minutes for 9 inch loaf pan. Makes 1 loaf. 35 to 40 minutes for 7 inch loaf pan. Makes 2 loaves.
