AUSSIE GERMAN APPLE CAKE 
1/4 c. butter
2/3 c. sugar
1 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 egg

Melt butter; add sugar and stir until it begins to dissolve. Stir in flour and baking powder; stir well. Beat in egg. Grease 7-inch cake pan and spread 2/3 of mix on bottom.

FILLING:

3 cooking apples
2 tbsp. raisins
1 tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
Juice of lemon

Slice apples thinly. Place half in layers over cake mix. Mix raisins, spices, and sugar and sprinkle over apple slices. Cover with rest of apple, then lemon juice. Spread remaining batter on top of apples by spoonsful. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
