GERMAN APPLE CRUMB CAKE 
1/2 c. sifted flour
1/2 c. sugar
Dash of salt
1/2 c. soft butter
5 c. thinly sliced fresh tart apples
2 tbsp. quick cooking tapioca
1/2 c. sugar
3/4 tsp. cinnamon

Combine first four ingredients mixing well with fork or fingers until crumbs form; set aside 3/4 cup of crumbs. Press remaining crumbs into a 9" spring form pan covering bottom and 3/4" up on sides.

Mix remaining ingredients and arrange in crumb shell. Bake at 425 degrees for 20 minutes. Then sprinkle with remaining crumbs. Bake 20 to 25 minutes longer or until crumbs are golden brown. Serve warm or cold.
