WORLD'S BEST COOKIE | |
1 c. butter 1 c. brown sugar 1 1/4 c. granulated sugar 1 egg 1 c. Wesson or Crisco oil 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla 1 c. oats (quick cooking) 1 c. crushed Corn Flakes or Special K cereal (or similar type) 1 c. coconut 1/2 c. chopped nuts 4 1/2 c. all purpose (plain) flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt Preheat oven at 325 degrees. Cream butter and sugars. Add egg and mix well. Add oil and vanilla, mixing well. Add oats, Corn Flakes, coconut and nuts -- stirring well. Add flour, soda, and salt. Mix well. Chill in refrigerator. Make into walnut-sized balls. (Makes 5 dozen.) Put on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 9 to 10 minutes. Let cool on sheet before removing. These cookies stay good for a long time after you actually bake them. Of course, place them in an airtight container. |
