SWEET AND SOUR MEAT BALLS 
1 lb. ground beef
1 egg
4 tbsp. cornstarch
1 tbsp. salt
1/2 c. onion, chopped
dash of pepper
1 tbsp. oil
1 can pineapple slices with juice
1 tbsp. soy sauce
6 tbsp. cold water
3 tbsp. vinegar
1/2 c. sugar
3 bell peppers, cut in strips

Combine beef, egg, 1 tbsp. cornstarch, salt, onion and pepper. Form into small balls. Brown in skillet. Remove and drain off all grease.

Pour in pineapple juice from can and oil. Cook on low heat for a few minutes. Combine remaining cornstarch, soy sauce, cold water, vinegar and sugar. Add this mixture to hot pineapple juice, cook until thickened. Cube pineapple slices. Add meat balls, bell pepper strips, pineapple cubes; continue cooking just until heated thoroughly. Serve immediately as appetizer or with rice as a main course.

Makes approx. 60 meat balls
