“CAFE APPLE-CHEESE SALAD” IS IN:
NEXT RECIPE:  CALIFORNIA STIR FRY

CAFE APPLE-CHEESE SALAD 
1 head lettuce, any type
2 Granny Smith apples cut into wedges
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, sliced into 8 pieces
4 oz. smoked ham, thin sliced
1 tsp. coarse black pepper
1/4 c. vegetable oil
3 tbsp. red wine vinegar
1/4 c. coarsely chopped and roasted walnuts
2 tbsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. each: thyme, rosemary, and marjoram

Cover four individual salad plates generously with lettuce leaves. Arrange apples, cheese and smoked ham over lettuce. Sprinkle each with pepper. Combine oil, vinegar, walnuts, sugar, thyme, rosemary & marjoram; mix well. Drizzle dressing over salad before serving.

Makes 4 servings.
