MOM'S GELATIN CHEESE SALAD
DESSERT
 
1 pkg. Knox gelatin (unflavored)
1/2 cup water
1 (20 oz.) can crushed pineapple (separate juice)
1 (8 oz.) tub Cool Whip
3/4 cup sugar
1 cup grated American cheese
food coloring (color to your choice)

Dissolve gelatin in 1/2 cup cold water. Heat pineapple juice and sugar until dissolved. Combine with gelatin in a metal bowl. Cool until gelatin starts to gel. Combine drained pineapple, grated cheese and food coloring. Cover and refrigerate.
