TEA CAKES 
1 c. shortening
3 tsp. baking powder
3/4 c. sugar
3 c. flour
2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. buttermilk
1/4 tsp. baking soda
2 eggs
1/4 tsp. salt

Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs; mix well. Sift all dry ingredients together. Add milk and soda; beat well. Add vanilla. Add mixtures together. Roll 1/4". Cut out. Bake at 400 degrees until light brown.
