DOWN SOUTH BEEF STEW 
1 1/2 lb. beef stew meat (or leftover roast)
2 cans tomatoes
2 lg. potatoes, chopped
1 lg. onion, chopped
1 pkg. frozen mixed vegetables
1/2 stick butter
1/2 c. catsup
1 tsp. red hot sauce
2 tbsp. sugar
Salt & pepper to taste

Boil meat until tender. Add remaining ingredients. Cook over medium heat until vegetables are tender. Simmer for 30 minutes. Thicken this with a little flour and water. Put over biscuits and serve. (Our family favorite.)
