BANANA CHOCOLATE CHIP CAKE 
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. Crisco
2 eggs
1 c. very ripe mashed bananas
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1 tsp. baking soda
2 c. sifted flour
Pinch of salt
1/2 c. maraschino cherries, cut up
1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips

Cream sugar and Crisco, beat in eggs, one at a time. Fold in bananas, beat in flour, mixed with dry ingredients. Add cherries, nuts and chocolate chips. Bake in long (greased and floured) loaf pan at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Cool in pan 15 minutes. Turn out. Cool. Wrap in aluminum foil and keep in refrigerator. Slice cold with sharp knife. Keeps very well..
