SMOKED SAUSAGE AND CABBAGE | |
1 sm. onion, chopped 3 tbsp. butter, melted 2 tbsp. flour 1 c. water 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 1 (2 lb.) head cabbage, chopped 1 lb. smoked sausage, cut into slices Saute onion in butter in a large Dutch oven or frying pan. Add flour, stirring until smooth. Cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Gradually add water, cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened and bubbly. Stir in salt, pepper and cabbage; cover, reduce heat, and simmer 5 minutes. Add sausage; cover and simmer 10 minutes. |
