POUND CAKE 
1/2 c. white Crisco (at room temperature)
1 lb. butter
3 c. Swansdown cake flour
3 c. sugar
5 eggs
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla and or lemon flavor

Sift flour and baking powder 3 times. Cream Crisco, butter, sugar until sugar is dissolved. Add eggs 1 at a time, add flour and milk alternating ending with flour.

Add flavor and blend. Use tube pan. Grease with Crisco and dust with flour. Pour batter into dusted pan. Place in a cold oven at 325 degrees. Cook for 1 hour 30 minutes or until batter leaves sides of pan.
