1 pkg. (14 oz.) light caramels 1 can (5 oz.) evaporated milk 1 pkg. German chocolate cake mix 3/4 c. chopped walnuts 3/4 c. melted butter 1 pkg. (6 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate chips Combine caramels and 1/3 cup evaporated milk in top of double boiler. Place over boiling water and medium heat. Stir mixture constantly until melted and then set aside. In mixing bowl combine cake mix, nuts, butter, and 1/3 cup evaporated milk. Stir until dough holds together and is well blended. Spread 1/2 of batter evenly in a greased and floured 9 x 13 pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 13 minutes. Sprinkle chocolate chips over baked dough. Spread caramel mix over chocolate chips. Spoon remaining dough in dabs evenly over top. Bake at 350 degrees for 17 minutes. |
