BOILED CABBAGE 
1 med. head cabbage (or amount for your family)
2-3 c. water
1 tsp. salt
1 or 2 slices meat
1/2 tsp. sugar

Wash, quarter and core cabbage. Cut up in small pieces. Put in saucepan, add water to come up about half way of the cabbage. Add salt, sugar and meat. Cover and cook on medium heat for 15 to 20 minutes.
