GERMAN RED CABBAGE (BOILED) 
3 c. shredded red cabbage
2 med. unpeeled apples, cubed
1/4 c. cider vinegar
1/4 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. water
1/8 tsp. pepper
Dash of salt
Dash of caraway seed
3 slices bacon, cut up and browned

Combine all ingredients, cover tightly to steam on low heat for 30 minutes. Stir occasionally. You may add a little more vinegar or water.
