BEEF STEAK PIE WITH POTATO CRUST 
1 lb. round steak, cut in 1 inch cubes
3 tbsp. fat
3 sm. onions, thinly sliced
3 tbsp. flour
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
Dash of thyme & garlic powder
2 c. water
3 med. potatoes, thinly sliced

Bake at 350 degrees. Dredge meat in flour. Brown meat in fat in skillet until very brown and crusty (15 minutes). Add onions and cook until golden brown (10 minutes). Put in 2 quart baking dish. Sprinkle with flour and seasonings. Pour water over top. Bake 45 minutes to 1 hour (until meat is tender). Remove from oven.

Increase oven temperature to 450 degrees. Place potatoes on top. Sprinkle with salt and paprika. Return to oven. Bake about 30 minutes, until potatoes are brown and tender. 4 to 6 servings.
