GERMAN RAW APPLE CAKE | |
1/2 c. shortening 1/2 c. brown sugar 1 c. white sugar 2 eggs 2 1/4 c. cake flour 1 tsp. cinnamon 2 tsp. baking soda 1 c. sour milk 2 c. diced apples (raw) Put dry ingredients together. Cream shortening and sugar, add eggs. Add dry ingredients and milk alternately to creamed mixture. Add apples last. 1 teaspoon cocoa may be added to dry ingredients. TOPPING: 1 tsp. cinnamon 1/4 c. white sugar 1/2 c. brown sugar 1/2 c. nuts or coconut if desired Mix and sprinkle on top of batter. Bake in loaf pan at 350 degrees about 40 minutes. Can also be made into cup cakes. |
