NEVER FAIL MERINGUES | |
1 tbsp. cornstarch 2 tbsp. cold water 1/2 c. boiling water 3 egg whites 6 tbsp. sugar 1 tsp. vanilla Pinch of salt Blend cornstarch and cold water in saucepan. Add boiling water and cook, stirring until clear and thickened. Let get cold. Beat with electric beater the egg whites until foamy. Add sugar and beat until stiff. Add salt, vanilla and beat on slow speed. Beat in cornstarch mixture gradually. Turn to high speed and beat well. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes after spreading on pie. (Cuts well, is never sticky.) |
