NEVER FAIL MERINGUE | |
1 tbsp. corn starch 1/2 c. boiling water 6 tbsp. sugar 2 tbsp. cold water 3 egg whites 1 tsp. vanilla 1/8 tsp. salt Blend cornstarch and cold water in small saucepan; add boiling water and cook, stirring until thick and very clear. Let cool completely. Beat egg whites until foamy; gradually add sugar and beat until very stiff, but not dry. Turn mixer to low, add salt, vanilla and cornstarch mixture. Turn mixer to high and beat well. Spread over cool pie filling and bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes or until brown. |
