SOUTHERN STYLE SAUSAGE GRAVY
Biscuits:

Any biscuits will work however, I find that buttermilk biscuits are best.

Gravy:

1/2 pkg. mild sausage
2 tbsp. butter
4 tbsp. all purpose flour or Wondra
4 cups whole milk
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. pepper

Cook sausage until done. Add butter and flour. Simmer for a few minutes on medium heat stirring frequently. Add milk, salt and pepper. Simmer over medium-high heat stirring constantly until desired thickness.

Spoon gravy over biscuits and enjoy!

My daughter made this with a friend, and it was too thin than I like it.... We added about 3 tbsp. Of corn starch and that helped thicken it up!

I am not from the south so this type of recipe is very new to me. This recipe is awesome! I used 2% milk instead of whole and it was very yummy. I also used 1 lb. of hot sausage. Great recipe!

This is good, the butter helped get the meat drippings of the pan and added flavor to the gravy. However I did not have 4 cups of mlik, I used 2 cups 2% milk and 2 cups cultured lowfat buttermilk and a total of tablespoons of flour.

We are meat eaters in my house so I use two packs of sausage. I also add a little more flour, but this recipe is delicious.

Thank you.. First time they liked my gravy. Based on other reviews I doubled the recipe and only used 6 cups of 2% milk vs. 8 as some said was thinner than normal. Turned out nice and thick :)
