Let butter sit out to soften. Place on clean surface and using hands, work in sugar, then flour, kneading well. The dough should be stiff and "together" if it looks like crumbling don't add any more flour. Put it in a 14 x 10 inch pan and press out, or roll out smoothly. Fork all over for steam escape holes. Bake in preheated 325 degree oven for 10 minutes, turn down to 300 degrees and continue baking until a deep golden tan (about 30 more minutes). Cut into fingers as soon as it comes from the oven and sprinkle with sugar.
