FINNISH SHORT BREAD 
2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
4 c. flour
Pinch of salt
Chopped almonds

Sift flour. Add salt, sugar and butter, knead together. Roll out in long slender rolls from 1/2 to 1 inch in diameter. Cut these rolls in 2 inch lengths. Press down slightly with the back of your fingers. Sprinkle with sugar and almonds. Beaten egg may be brushed on the cookies first if desired, then dip in sugar and nuts. Bake in oven at 375 to 400 degrees for 8 minutes.
