SCOTCH SHORT BREADS 
A newer recipe but simple and worth trying.

1 c. butter
2 c. flour
1/2 c. sugar

Mix this well like a pie crust for at least 5 minutes. Form like a sausage and chill. Then slice about 1/4 inch thick and bake. As soon as removed form oven, dip in a mixture of 1 cup of powdered sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla.
