I love the taste. I am not a fan of pies, but this recipe taste just like apple pie without the crust which is great for those who aren't fan of flaky pasties. I find it is a little sweeter if you sprinkle half the brown sugar over the apples and use the rest for the topping.

I have made this recipe for at least 50 years (it used to always be on the back of the Quaker Oatmeal box). It is always a welcomed treat!! The only thing that I would add is vanilla ice cream to the top of the apple crisp while it is still warm, or some whipped cream!! Either way, it is one of my most favorite recipes!!

A million thank you's!!! I have been looking for this recipe for a LONG time now-lost it when I moved-used to make it for my kids as they were growing up: it is terrific, and my daughter, now grown, wants to continue the tradition of QUICK (Quaker Oats) Apple Crisp! And, now, I can make it again, too; thanks so very much.

I made this recipe today with a few additions. I added craisins, blueberries and I microwaved 1/3 cup of peanut butter to drizzle over the apples before the topping. Delicious!! Thanks!

We like thick apple crisp -- double the apples and triple the topping!

Thank you! I'm 69 and have loved this recipe for over fifty years. My copy is disintegrated, and you supplied the part that I no longer had.

To make this good recipe even easier just use a few packets of instant oatmeal - your choice of flavor.

Some suggestions: apple, brown sugar, gingerbread, even the raisin date & walnut is good.

Instant oatmeal is not healthy. Plus it doesn't save time. Just so folk who don't go in the kitchen much know.

I've modified this for a diabetic and it's still delicious. Use Granny Smith apples instead - the only apple a diabetic can eat. (I throw in a red apple to cut the tartness). And replace the brown sugar with Swerve brown sugar replacement. It's one for one and there is no aftertaste. Our diabetic can eat this without a numbers spike. And we're all healthier for eating this version. Delicious!
