SPICED PEACHES 
1 (1 lb. 1 oz.) can cling peaches
1/4 c. vinegar
1/2 c. sugar
1 (3 oz.) pkg. Jello (orange or pineapple)
3/4 c. cold water
1/8 tsp. cinnamon
12 whole cloves

Drain peaches. Measure 3/4 cup syrup (add water if necessary). Save can for mold. Chop peaches coarsely. Bring syrup, vinegar, sugar and spices slowly to a boil. Add peaches; simmer 10 minutes. Strain syrup and discard cloves. Dissolve Jell-O in hot syrup. Add cold water and peaches. Chill until slightly thick. Pour into can and (1 individual mold) chill until firm. Variation: use fresh peaches or apricots and add 3/4 cup water. Serves 6 to 8.
