DATE-ORANGE BREAD | |
2/3 c. brown sugar, firmly packed 1/3 c. butter 2 eggs 3/4 c. orange juice 2 tsp. grated orange rind 2 c. flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 1 c. chopped pitted dates 1/2 c. chopped walnuts Cream together sugar and butter. Add eggs, one at a time beating well after each addition. Beat in orange juice and grated rind. Combine flour, baking powder, soda and salt. Add to creamed mixture; mix well. Fold in dates and walnuts. Pour into greased 9"x5"x3" loaf pan. Bake in 350 degree oven for 1 hour or until done. Remove from pan and cool on rack. Makes 1 loaf. |
