JEFF DAVIS PIE 
1 (9 inch) uncooked pie shell, chilled
2 c. pure cane sugar
1/2 c. butter
1 tbsp. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. milk
4 eggs

Cream together until light and fluffy butter and sugar. Add flour, salt, and vanilla. Beat well and add eggs one at a time beating well after each. Stir milk in slowly. Pour into uncooked crust and bake at 450 degrees for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 degrees. Bake for 30 minutes or until firm.
