I've never taken the cream out of the cookie before making these and I have yet to have anyone notice the difference. It's just as easy to leave it in. Also I love using the mint and peanut butter Oreos for a easy way to change up the flavor. Very good!!!

I am going to dip these in orange tinted bark for a church dinner and draw faces on them to resemble pumpkins. Hope they turn out ok.

I have used nutter butters -- my kids love them, as well as chocolate chip cookies. Also -- try ginger snaps.

This is going to be my first try at melting Almond Bark or any other Chocolate for the matter of fact. Tell me if I am wrong but if I stack two (2) pots on top of each other I can melt the Almond Bark or Chocolate that way Correct? I am going to use the regular stuff Oreo's for my first try, then maybe move to the double stuffed, Peppermint and so forth. I will let you all know how they turn out. Blessings to you all.

I use my crock pot to melt the bark. Works very well.

Tip: If you end up using chocolate chips instead of the almond bark, you can used about a teaspoon or so of vegetable oil in it. This makes it easier to dip into the chocolate chips.

I love this recipe and this year I used the mint Oreos. They were great and I got alot of comments on how good they were.

4 oz. Cream cheese would probably work better this is 1st time making and the 8 oz. Cream cheese made it harder to roll in balls. Let's see how they turn out. I also want to try the mint or peppermint oreos next time

I always love these. A good variation is to drizzle with the melted andes baking chips when finished.

Another variation is a baked red velvet cake mix crumbled and mixed with softened (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese. Roll in to balls, freeze 15 min and dip into melted almond bark. YumYum!

These are always a huge hit. I made them for the first time last year for a work party, and everyone was amazed when I told them how simple they are! I always use the mint Oreos and they are just delicious. For the chocolate, I just use semi-sweet chocolate chips and melt them in the microwave with about a tablespoon of shortening to make it a bit thinner. I also melt the chips in 3 or 4 batches. I've found that if you melt them all at once, they will start to harden and get too thick before you are done dipping. And the best piece of advice I can give, is to be sure you chill the Oreo and cream cheese mixture - before you even make them into balls! Mix everything and throw it into the freezer for at least one hour and THEN roll and dip the balls. Otherwise, you will have nothing but a sticky goopy mess on your hands that will fall apart in the warm chocolate. After I dip them, I like to put them individually into those little tiny cupcake liners and then sprinkle them with a bit of red and green 'crystals' before the chocolate hardens. I challenge you to try to eat just one!! ;-)

I have done this with white chocolate bits and sprinkles. I bet the peanut chocolate bits would work for peanut flavored oreo balls.

Made these for Christmas and gave to all for gifts with cookie tray. Wow! They are easy and yummy, very sweet and could be made smaller next time
