SHREDDED WHEAT BREAD | |
1 1/2 c. warm water 1/4 c. sugar 3 biscuits, shredded wheat 1 pkg. active dry yeast 2 tsp. salt 2 egg yolks 1/3 c. corn oil 1 c. dry milk powder 4 c. bread flour Pour warm water into large bowl. Add sugar and shredded wheat broken into pieces; mix well. Sprinkle yeast over mixture; let stand 10 minutes. Add remaining ingredients, except flour. Mix with fork. Gradually blend in flour. Dough will appear lumpy and dry. cover; set in warm place 30 minutes. Blend again, cover, let double in bulk. Turn out on floured bread board. Shape into 2 loaves. Place in greased, 8 x 4 inch pans. Let rise to pan rim. Place in cold oven with shallow pan of hot water on bottom shelf. Set oven at 350 degrees. Bake 45 minutes. Turn out on rack. Cool before slicing. |
