IDAHO CHILI 
1 to 1 1/2 lb. ground beef, browned and drained
1 chopped onion
2 (16 oz.) cans garbanzo beans, drained
2-3 med. carrots, chopped
2 tbsp. chili powder
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1 green pepper, finely chopped
2 qt. tomato juice
1 (16 oz.) can whole tomatoes or 3 quartered fresh chopped
3 med. diced potatoes

Bring browned beef, onion, garbanzo beans (drained), carrots, tomatoes, seasonings, pepper, and juice to a boil. Reduce heat to simmer for 10-15 minutes, then add the potatoes and cook 15-20 minutes more. Add additional juice, if needed. Consistency should be fairly thick.
