Baked Beans with Ground Beef

This recipe was good. Not too sure if you suppose to use both cans as pork and beans, so bought a large can of baked beans instead, since that is the title of the recipe. Did not add the brown sugar and this was delicious. Whole family loved it and it will be added to my cook binder.

I did this recipe and my family of 6 loved it! The only thing I added was a little honey. I made a crock pot full and it was gone by the end of dinner. Even my 1 year old ate it! Oh, I'm I going to enjoy changing those diapers! Lol I now do it for all of our cook outs! I would recommend this to everyone!

I tried this recipe. It was quite good. The only question I had was while browning the ground beef, if we needed to put any seasoning in it at all. I added just a little seasoning salt for my own pleasure. That did not mess up the recipe. I follwed this recipt without adding the barbecue sauce also, and this dish still turned out pretty good. Three thumbs up!!!

My family has made this dish for generations. It's so simple and it's always been a family favorite. Sometimes we don't add ketchup or BBQ sauce - we just love the true flavor of the salt and peppered ground beef with store-bought beans. With such a large variety of baked beans today - there's plenty to 'play with'. Oh, one thing, we don't bake it, never did and it's yummy. Not baking it also gives you a 15 minute meal. While cooking the ground beef, the beans are heating up in a sauce pan. We have some super-fresh bread with this. Kids love it with a tall glass of chilled white milk. Someone added honey to this recipe, I liked that better than the brown sugar - much healthier! Bon Appetit to all.

Adding brown sugar made it much too sweet. There's a lot of sugar in ketchup and BBQ sauce. We excluded the Brown Sugar, cooked the ground beef, added pre-heated baked beans. We then mixed the beef and beans together, cooked it all up a bit more in the skillet and it was perfect. Didn't need to be baked - the purchased beans are already baked. It's a quick and easy, one-skillet meal, complimented by different types of bread for dipping into the delicious-ness!
